“Sky Will Breathe Me” is the first in a large series of Poem Paintings in which the Linda Johns integrates words and a painted image to amplify her environmental and metaphysical messages. One medium isn’t just an illustration of the other, nor does it necessarily explain the other. The words flow and pulse with the images, both having evolved simultaneously. Rhythms of colour, internal rhyme and creative energy coalesce. Poem Painting #1 depicts spirit birds rising, with reference to the eternal cycles of life, death and renewal.
